Drone footage captures destruction of woodland by huge fire near West Lane, Isle of Grain

Drone footage has captured the aftermath of a fire which destroyed around three hectares of woodland.

The blaze broke out near West Lane on the Isle of Grain, Hoo, yesterday afternoon setting alight trees and shrubbery.

Drone pictures captured by Adam Ogden show the extent of the destruction and the torched turf left.

Four fire engines attended the scene at around 5pm

Firefighters worked to put out the blaze for around two and a half hours using hoses and beaters until the fire was brought under control shortly before 7.30pm.

No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is unknown.
