Driver taken to hospital after crash on A228 Peninsula Way, Hoo

A van driver has been taken to hospital after a crash on a main road.

Police were called at 8.50am to a collision between a van and a car on Dux Court Road, at the roundabout with the A228 Peninsula Way in Hoo.

The driver of the red Vauxhall Astra had to be freed by firefighters, the roof of his car was removed.

The van driver was checked for neck injuries and taken to hospital by the South East Coast Ambulance service.

The A289 was closed southbound at the A228 Four Elms Hill junction in Strood due to the accident.

The road was cleared by around 10.40am.
