Molly McLaren murder trial: Closing arguments in Josh Stimpson case

The jury in the trial of Joshua Stimpson, accused of the murder of Molly McLaren, has heard closing speeches from both the Crown's lawyer, Philip Bennetts QC, and the defence barrister, Oliver Saxby today.

The trial at Maidstone Crown Court, which is now into its third week, also heard Judge Adele Williams' summing up of the case.

Stimpson, 26, of High Street, Wouldham is accused of the murder of Molly in a frenzied attack in her car at the Dockside Outlet Centre, in Chatham, on June 29 last year.

Molly, 23, who lived in Cobham, suffered at least 75 wounds to her neck, head and body.

Stimpson has admitted manslaughter but denies murder.

The judge will continue her summing up tomorrow, before sending the jury out to consider their verdict.
