Chatham man arrested after woman is hit by a car in Gillingham

A man has been arrested after a woman was hit by a vehicle when she got out of her car in Gillingham.

A 32-year-old from Chatham has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident following the incident on Wednesday which left the 40-year-old woman with a broken leg.

The collision reportedly happened on St George’s Road at the junction with Saunders Street.

The man has been bailed until December 17.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC Greg Salt by calling 101 and quoting CAD 31-1343.
