Resurfacing works on Yokosuka Way and Grange Roundabout in Gillingham set to take place for five nights

Parts of a busy route are set to be closed for five nights.

Resurfacing work means Yokosuka Way and Grange Roundabout in Gillingham will be partially closed.

The works will be carried out overnight from 7pm to 7am from Monday, September 25 to Friday, September 29.

The northbound lane of Yokosuka Way, Grange Roundabout and Danes Hill westbound lanes will be shut from Monday, September 25 until Wednesday, September 27.

On Thursday, September 28, Pier Road and Gads Hill eastbound will shut between Grange Roundabout and The Strand Roundabout for one night.

Grange Roundabout will be closed between Lower Rainham Road and Yokosuka Way southbound on the last night of the works.

Medway Council says access will be maintained for residents but people will need proof of their address.

The council says that due to the nature of the works, a higher level of noise is expected.
