Boy hurt after being hit by car

A 12-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a car this morning (Tuesday).

The victim suffered injuries to his face and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The accident happened in Delce Road, Rochester, at 7.35am. Police and ambulance crews were on the scene. The Kent Air Ambulance landed in nearby Jacksons Field but after being assessed, the boy was taken to hospital by land ambulance.

The road was closed at the junction with Castle Avenue while emergency services dealt with the incident. It was reopened just after 8.40am.
