Police were called to the scene where the vehicle, which had flipped so the driver's door was on the road, was recovered.

The grey BMW was smashed at the front and right side, including its windscreen.

The incident caused some traffic problems in the area, not helped by a crash on the M2 earlier this morning.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at around 5.55am on Monday to a report that a car had overturned on the Walderslade Village Bypass.

"Officers attended the scene where the driver had already been taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries."
