An 18-year old motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with a suspected leg fracture after an accident in Strood town centre.

Witnesses report the teenage biker fell off after swerving to avoid a female pedestrian who had walked into the road on North Street close to the entrance of the Netto car park

The road was cordoned off for about 20 minutes while emergency services dealt with the scene.

The pedestrian was unharmed in the crash but the man was taken to hospital with a suspected foot injury.

Ann-Marie Monaghan, manager of Strood Cabs, said: "I did not see it but I heard the crash, it always seems to happen down here."
