Police appeal after man attempted to steal woman's handbag in Forge Lane, Gillingham

Kent police are appealing for information after a man reportedly tried to snatch a handbag from a mother walking with her three-year-old child in Gillingham.

The woman, in her 30s, said a man tried to steal her handbag in Forge Lane between 11.25am and 11.35am, yesterday.

It is alleged he tried to take the bag but ran off when he was unable to pull it from her shoulder.

He is described as a slim, white man, 5ft 7in, wearing black trousers and a black jumper.
