Adventure Kidz indoor play area, in Quarry Wood industrial estate, Aylesford, trashed by thieves

An investigation has been launched after an indoor play area was trashed by thieves.

Vandals broke into Adventure Kidz, in Aylesford, between 8pm on Sunday and 9am on Monday, and ransacked the site.

The business, in Quarry Wood Industrial Estate, will be closed until further notice but the owner, Andrew Moody, has stressed it will reopen as soon as possible.

Mr Moody said: “They took the safe, which contained the weekend’s takings, and completely ransacked the office.

"They smashed and broke various things such as plates but they but they didn’t cause any damage to main play area. It’s like a trail of destruction.

“We’re frustrated and disappointed we've had to close but we're doing everything we can to reopen as soon as possible.”

A number of children's parties have been cancelled as a result of the damage but Mr Moody said this weekend's bookings will still go ahead as planned.

Rebecca Link, of Coxheath, regularly takes her one-year-old niece to the centre.

The 29-year-old said: "I think it's disgusting someone would do this to a children's play area. It's such a shame this has happened as it's a great place to take children."

Forensic officers examined the scene and are now looking at evidence, including any potential footage from security cameras.

People with any information about the incident are asked to call Kent Police on 101.
