Edenbridge: 70ft oak tree in How Green Lane catches fire

Firefighters were called to Edenbridge last night after a 70ft oak tree went up in flames.

The unstable tree caught fire in How Green Lane near How Green Nursery at 5.30pm, with one crew assisted by a specialist technical rescue team battling the blaze for two and a half hours.

They passed duty of care to the owner at 8pm.

No one was injured in the blaze and it is not known how damaged the tree was.
