Former world squash champion Peter Nicol will be appearing at The Mote Squash Club on Saturday, November 22.

Nicol, who is based in London, will be holding a coaching clinic for the club's junior members and senior team players before taking part in an exhibition match with fellow professional Tim Garner.

He established himself as the world No1 for more than five years and also holds the unique record of winning Commonwealth Games gold medals for both Scotland and England following his controversial change of international allegiance eight years ago.

Nicol, who retired from the world tour last year, is now making a name for himself as a coach and a promoter.

He and Garner co-promote the ISS Canary Wharf Squash Classic in London in conjunction with Mote Squash Club member Alan Thatcher, who commentates on squash for Sky TV and is chairman of the Kent Squash and Racketball Association.

Thatcher said: "We are both delighted and honoured that Peter should be appearing at The Mote."
