Margate v Maidstone

MAIDSTONE United joint-manager Alan Walker believes his and Lloyd Hume's advice is finally paying off.

After a poor start to the season the Stones have now extended their unbeaten run to eight games.

Maidstone are two points off the play-offs and go into Saturday's Ryman League Premier Division game against Margate on the back of a 2-0 win over Folkestone Invicta.

Walker said: "Lloyd and myself have found that it usually takes three or four months of the season for the boys to respond to what we're saying.

"Every year we have been here we have had success after a certain amount of time and we hope to go on and produce more success."

The Stones travel to Hartsdown Park to face Margate on Saturday and Walker has warned his side against any complacency.

"They have got some experienced players who have been there and done it. We need to go there and have the enthusiasm and confidence that has carried us through the last eight games. If we do that I am sure we can get a result."

Lee Shearer (suspension), Errison Ahwan (hamstring) and Chris Smalling (England youth trials) are all back available while Ben Lewis (knee) and Mario McNish (knee) will be assessed.
