Maidstone United to host Premier League Crystal Palace in pre-season friendly

Maidstone have announced a pre-season friendly against Premier League club Crystal Palace.

The Eagles are bringing their first team to the Gallagher on Saturday, July 15 (1pm), as United mark five years at Whatman Way.

Stones chief executive Bill Williams said: "It will be an absolute honour to welcome Crystal Palace to the Gallagher Stadium this summer and we're delighted that they will be part of our fifth anniversary celebrations."

The Gallagher opened in July 2012 with a friendly against Palace's big rivals, Brighton.

A crowd of 2,226 packed into the stadium as Gus Poyet's side won 5-0.

Ticket details for the Palace game will be announced shortly.
