Boreham Wood v Maidstone United

MAIDSTONE United travel to Boreham Wood in the Ryman League Premier Division looking to build on their positive performance against AFC Wimbledon last Saturday.

Despite a 2-1 defeat, boss Alan Walker believes there are a lot of positives for them to take into the weekend clash.

He stressed: "Considering we made the worst possible start by conceding a 58-second penalty, we can take a lot from the game.

"Although we were struggling with injuries, the character and determination of the players could not be faulted."

Walker is hoping Errison Ahwan will be fit to play although Lee Shearer and Nathan Paul are still doubts.

Meanwhile Conor Hagan, who impressed in his debut against the Dons despite being sent off, will get another chance to impress before his suspension kicks in.

Both sides are evenly matched, separated by a single point in the table, although Maidstone hold the upper-hand boasting a 3-2 win when the teams last met in September.

Boreham Wood have won just once in their last six games (strangely a 4-2 win over runaway leaders Chelmsford City) while Maidstone have won twice in their last six.
