Stones management pair issue funds plea

UNCERTAINTY: Alan Walker (left) and Lloyd Hume
UNCERTAINTY: Alan Walker (left) and Lloyd Hume

THE futures of Maidstone managerial partners Alan Walker and Lloyd Hume remain clouded ahead of a meeting next week with club chairman Paul Bowden Brown.

Walker stressed: "Let's be absolutely clear, both Lloyd and I want to stay, finish what we started and take the club up to the next level.

"But staying is not a done deal because we want to be sure we're all pulling in the right direction."

He explained: "Both Lloyd and I want to hit the ground running in the Premier but that is going to take money. It's essential that we're able to put together a squad capable of competing.

"I'm very positive we'll sort out something with the chairman who has backed us 100 per cent in the past."

Walker dismissed as nonsense website speculation linking him with the managerial vacancies at Welling and Dover.
