Maidstone United chairman Paul Bowden-Brown has rubbished rumours they could play elsewhere in the county by confirming a three-year extension is in place with landlords Sittingbourne to stay at Bourne Park.

Rumours have linked the Ryman League Premier Division club with a move to Lordswood, and there has also been speculation that the Stones could consider groundsharing with play-off rivals Tonbridge Angels.

But Mr Bowden-Brown is adamant they are going nowhere, as he continues his quest to take the club back to the County Town.

He said: "I think this all started with people suggesting I might take the club into a lower league. We are staying at Sittingbourne, everything is in place there, and there are no other grounds available anyway. We have extended our lease for another three years until 2012."

Bourne chairman Andy Spice confirmed the two clubs agreed things "several months ago".

Mr Bowden-Brown will be at the supporters club's open meeting on Wednesday night to brief fans on the latest developments since putting the club up for sale and seek their ideas on raising funds to help towards the new ground.

The meeting takes place at The Orchard Spot in Otham and starts at 7.30pm.
