Tim Reeves chases Isle of Man TT glory this week as he takes on the famous circuit for the first time.

The Aylesford sidecar racer combined practice on the TT course with the F1 World Championship event at Donington Park last weekend and walked away with a second place finish as he began his world title defence.

In atrocious weather at Donington, Reeves and passenger Patrick Farrance were denied victory when they ran wide, which allowed Finnish pair Pekka Paivarinta and Timo Karttiala to secure the opening round win.

Reeves endured a hectic weekend as he combined commitments at Donington with those on the Isle of Man as the TT build up got into full swing.

“I’ll settle for second this time but you can be sure I’ll be trying hard next time,” said Reeves.

“I could not feel my fingers at the end of the race. I ran a bit wide and Paivarinta got past me. I knew I wouldn’t be able to stay with him after that.”

Reeves and Farrance revert to their F2 machine for the TT which begins on Saturday. Race two takes place on Wednesday.

The TT experience has so far been a good one for Reeves.

“It was absolutely fantastic,” he said. “I can see why everyone has raved about the TT. I have never experienced anything like that anywhere in the world.”
