Triple world sidecar champion Tim Reeves begins practice on Saturday ahead of next week’s Isle of Man TT races.

The world famous race around the 37 and three quarter mile island circuit will push Reeves and passenger Patrick Farrance to the limit.

Reeves, the World and British F1 sidecar champion, will be racing his new F2 machine as he tackles the daunting circuit for the first time.

“The TT is one of the most iconic events in world motorsport and I’m really looking forward to the challenge t,” said the Maidstone-based 35-year-old.

The man to beat will be Dave Molyneux, who claimed victory in both races at last year’s event, to take his tally to an incredible 13 wins. Former world champion Klaus Klaffenbock will also be competing.

Reeves will this weekend, however, face a logistical challenge as he attempts to fit his Isle of Man commitments around Sunday’s World Sidecar series at Donington Park.

“It’s going to be a hectic few days for us,” said Reeves.

“We fly back to Donington to set up camp with the F1 outfit and then fly back to the island for compulsory rider briefing.

“We’re back at Donington for practice on Saturday then straight back to the Island for compulsory novice laps on Saturday night.

“After that we head straight back to Donington for Sunday, when we have morning warm-up, followed by the race. Then on Monday we fly back again to the island for our first proper practice session.

“Talk about a carbon footprint - we must be setting a record!”

Race week starts next Saturday.
