MAIDSTONE United slumped to the bottom of the Ryman League Premier Division table with a heavy defeat at Ramsgate on Tuesday night.

The Stones fell behind on seven minutes when Stefan Ball drove a 20-yard free-kick into the net.

Mo Takaloo came close to equalising for the visitors when he headed a Ben Lewis cross against the post, before Ramsgate doubled their lead on 36 minutes when Shawn Welford's header went in off the post.

Things then went from bad to worst for Maidstone when Lewis was dismissed for a foul on Stefan Ball.

Rams' third came from the penalty spot after Errison Awhan handled Simon Pettit's long throw and Welford tucked the ball away in the 54th minute.

Their fourth followed in the 72nd minute when Welford completed his hat-trick with a header.
