Woman assaulted in The Zoo bar and nightclub, in Maidstone

A woman reportedly left a bar "with her teeth in her hand" after she was attacked on a night out.

The victim, who wants to remain anonymous, says she was in The Zoo bar and nightclub in Maidstone when she had her "face smashed in".

Other injuries included a cut gum, bruised and yellow jaw and chin, a swollen face, and scratches on her shoulder.

She also has bruised ribs and had to have stitches in her right arm, which she says she used to try and shield her face during the assault.

She said she left the bar holding her teeth in her hand and had to wait two hours for an ambulance before losing consciousness due to the injuries.

Police have confirmed they were called to the bar at 2am on Sunday to reports a woman had been injured during a "disturbance" at the venue.

A spokesman said: "A 29-year-old woman from Gillingham was arrested nearby on suspicion of assault and later released on bail until January 30, 2023.

"Inquiries into the incident are ongoing."
