United's return celebrated in song

Maidstone United’s historic return to the town has been celebrated in song.

Coming Home will be released by musician Bob Jenner in time for the club’s opening game at the new £2.6 million Gallagher Stadium next month.

It is also a tribute to his late brother Danny, a Stones fan who died of cancer last year, aged 49.

All proceeds from the sale of the CD will be donated to Heart of Kent Hospice.

Bob, 52, a former professional musician, performed and produced the song himself at his home studio in Grove Green.

The dad-of-three said: "Danny was a huge Maidstone fan so I felt compelled to do something

"But it’s also for all the other fans who were waiting for Maidstone to return to the town but have since passed away."

The CD, which costs £3, will be on sale at Maidstone’s club shop before the friendly with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, July 14.

It will also be available in 12 hospice shops in Maidstone.
