Two injured in fuel tanker crash

A tanker carrying heating fuel has overturned in a crash in Lenham Heath Road this morning.

Two people were injured and fuel was spilt in the collision between the tanker and a Land Rover Freelander near the White Horse Inn at Lenham at 10.45am.

Police and two ambulance crews attended, while firefighters helped to secure the scene, put foam blankets down to help clear the fuel spillage.

Kent Highways also attended to deal with the spilt fuel.

Both vehicles were overturned on their sides. One man was taken to hospital with minor head injuries.

Police have closed the road and drivers are advised to avoid the area.
