Loose Women presenter Carol McGiffin - who grew up in Maidstone - has pledged to take part in a local annual charity walk again this year.

It will be the sixth year that the TV presenter has supported the Heart of Kent Hospice's Moonlit Walk, which will be held on Saturday, September 22.

She will be there to cheer on those taking part, but a back injury means she may not be able to complete the walk herself. As the event is now open to men as well as women, she is expected to bring her partner, Mark Cassidy.

The event will start at 10pm from the David Lloyd Leisure Club in Kings Hill, and features a six-mile course and a 10-mile course.
