Tonbridge manager Tommy Warrilow admits his side missed out in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Havant & Waterlooville.

It was Angels’ fifth successive draw and, although Warrilow felt his team played some "fantastic football" in the first half, their failure to claim a first win of the season after leading 2-0 inside 25 minutes through goals by Chris Piper and Henry Muggeridge was a big opportunity missed.

Warrilow, pictured, said: "The boys were all disappointed on Saturday night because they knew we had missed the chance to send out a bit of a statement.

"One win would change people’s perceptions about how we are doing - all of a sudden it becomes five games unbeaten instead of five matches without a win."

Their latest stalemate left Angels languishing 20th in the Blue Square Bet South table while Saturday's opponents at Longmead, Boreham Wood, are occupying fourth place.

Warrilow said: "They have got strength in depth in their squad and it’s going to be a tough game, but we have got to be encouraged by the way we played in the first half last week."

Piper will be missing because he is serving a one-match ban after being sent off in the 1-1 draw with Bromley last month.
