Tonbridge eased their Blue Square Bet South relegation worries slightly on Tuesday with a priceless win against Eastleigh at a sparsely-populated Longmead.

Just 170 fans turned up to watch the game, but those who stayed away missed a spirited display by Tommy Warrilow’s struggling side.

Mark Lovell (pictured) put Angels ahead on the stroke of half-time, finishing from close-range after Frannie Collin had cut the ball back from the byline.

After the break, two goals in three minutes put Tonbridge in control.

Collin latched onto David Ijaha’s through-ball and finished coolly to make it 2-0, before Lee Browning bagged a third after the ball had bounced his way in the box.

Jai Reason pulled a goal back for Eastleigh with 10 minutes remaining but the visitors then had Damien Scannell sent-off for dissent.

Tonbridge are two points above the drop zone ahead of Saturday’s trip to title hopefuls Salisbury City.
