Tommy Warrilow is ready to start planning for life in Blue Square Bet South, but will wait until after next week’s promotion celebrations before making any decisions on players.

The Tonbridge board met for the second time in a week on Wednesday night and boss Warrilow (pictured) was planning to speak to benefactor Gary Pass on Thursday to find out if any decisions on budgets for next season had been agreed.

The club are erecting a big marquee on the Longmead pitch for the big night next Friday and Warrilow said: "I don’t want to do anything to put a dampner on that, because it will be a time for everybody to enjoy themselves.

"Players have been ringing me up, some have gone elsewhere already and I know I have missed the boat on a couple of others. But I can’t do anything until I know what the budget is."

Scott Gooding is recovering from a knee operation, while Lewis Taylor is due to have surgery on a damaged cartilage. John Beales and Lee Browning are also recovering from knee injuries.

Meanwhile, Tonbridge chairman Steve Churcher says the club are planning to invest £5,000 in pitch improvements as well as installing extra turnstiles and increasing media facilities to meet the demands of the new league.

He said: "Having got there, it’s how we stay there, and I’d like to think we will be competitive. The hard work begins now."
