Boss Tommy Warrilow is vowing to savour every moment of taking Tonbridge Angels to the highest ever position in their history.

However, he can’t wait to get started on preparing for life in Blue Square Bet South and is due to talk to chairman Steve Churcher and the board, who were due to meet on Thursday night, about planning for next season.

Warrilow, assistant manager Alex O’ Brien and first team coach Terry Sedge celebrated until the early hours of Sunday morning after the 4-3 Ryman League Premier Division play-off final win over Lowestoft in front of a record crowd of nearly 2,500.

He said: "We just wanted to soak up the atmosphere at the club and my head was still ringing a couple of days later.

"I need to speak to the board first but I am somebody who always wants to get stuck into things quickly once the season is over and my phone has already started to ring."

Warrilow plans to give his squad a chance to prove themselves, adding: "I don’t want to be sentimental about it but I feel I have got players who can play at the level above. I am also looking to bring in five or six new faces."

Looking ahead, Warrilow said: "We have to be patient and sensible going into the new league but don’t fear it all. The one thing I don’t think we have done is give ourselves enough credit about what we have achieved to get there."

The club who stage a two-day Garden Festival next week in a new venture organised by Commercial Manager Darren Apps, plan to invest around £5000 on refurbishing the Longmead Stadium pitch.

Tonbridge face Brentford in a pre-season friendly on July 16th.
