Drivers are struggling to travel on a road linking Maidstone and Medway after three cars were involved in an accident.

Police were called to Boxley Road, at Boxley Hill around 9.30am on Wednesday after reports of a Nissan Micra and two Volkswagen Polos being involved in an accident.

There are no reports of any injuries or damage to the cars. Police also said a Dutch-registered lorry has broken down near the scene of the accident with a punctured tyre.

Drivers are able to pass the accident but only just.

Karen Morritt, who works in Maidstone and was caught up in the tailbacks said she had to drive off the side of the road and along a muddy bank to inch past.
