Its new look was unveiled last Thursday (November 9), when the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Gordon Newton, officially cut the ribbon.

A self-service counter has been installed in the store’s bakery, as well as self-closing doors to keep food fresher for longer.

The chilled department also has had doors added to reduce the store’s carbon footprint.

Products have been moved around with the aim of providing a smoother shopping experience for customers.

Bakery, grocery and checkout workers – Daphne Wilson, Paula Knight and Julie Hollands – were also part of the launch.

Store manager John O'Flynn said: "We know the residents of Maidstone have been eagerly anticipating our new look and we want to thank them for their patience while the work has been under way.

“We are really looking forward to showing customers around our new and improved store layout.”
