Young performers helped raise more than £550 in memory of a teenager.

Ultraviolet was staged by pupils at Valley Park Community School, Maidstone, with the last song dedicated to 15-year-old Larissa Shepherd, who died 12 days after she was involved in an accident with a car in New Cut Road last October. She had been due to perform in the show.

Among the audience were members of Larissa’s family.

A collection taken during the event raised money for the Silver Lining Appeal, which raises money for London’s King’s College Hospital where Larissa was cared for, and Brainwaves, which supports brain-injured children.
