St George's Day celebrations

A medieval feast of activities is being planned to bring a touch of patriotism to the County Town for St George’s Day.
Maidstone Council Cultural Group has planned a day themed on myths and legends, supported by the Kent Messenger.
St George’s Day, celebrating the patron saint of England, is on Friday, April 23 and the event takes place on Saturday, April 24.
It starts with a flag-raising ceremony at noon followed by an afternoon of fun including 50 free clay dragon pottery painting sessions, ice sculpting workshops, helmet making workshops, falconry, music and dancing displays.
