A man has been found dead in Paddock Wood this morning after reports of a shooting.

Kent Police said officers found the body after being called to Maidstone Road at about 9.10am.

A spokesman said the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

It is believed the man died from a gunshot wound.

The A228 was closed in both directions between the Hop Farm roundabout and Badsell Road while investigations continued.
