Head teacher Mark Tomkins said it was "with the greatest sadness" he was letting them know the tragic news.

He said: "The circumstances are yet to be confirmed and I am unable to share any further information at the current time as we wish to respect and protect the privacy of the family.

"We are very mindful this information is likely to be particularly difficult for Harrison’s friends and year group to bear and that it will be a huge shock to them and a process of grief.

"Our thoughts are with Harrison’s family at this tragic time and the whole school community sends them our deepest sympathy and support."

The Barton Road school held extended tutor time on Monday with staff getting all students together to speak to them on how they can get support and help each other.
