Investigators are working to find out how a Suzuki Vitara left a motorway carriageway and landed on its roof, leaving a man dead and a woman injured.

Police say there were no other vehicles involved in the crash, which happened between junction 8 (Hollingbourne) and junction 9 (Ashford) at around 7.15am on Sunday, March 21.

The 32-year old man the 19-year-old woman - who was taken to William Harvey Hospital with a minor head injury - were both from Ashford.

Both carriageways of the motorway were closed and later reopened.
