Police have discovered a second drug factory in Maidstone less than 24 hours since raiding another.

Officers found at least 300 cannabis plants this morning at a home in Lombardy Drive.

They seized more than 100 plants yesterday from an address in Well Road.

A 46-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man were arrested in connection with today's operation in the Vinters Park estate.

The woman has been released on bail until July but the man remains in custody.

Det Sgt Andrew Nicoll, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “This is another important discovery and it means that another 300 cannabis plants will be destroyed.

"Anyone who sets up a cannabis farm, whether in residential or commercial premises, is taking a big risk as we have a good record of closing the farms down, destroying the crops and putting those we believe to be involved before the courts.”
