A primary school is in shock today after the sudden death of a much-loved teacher.

Staff at Offham Primary School, near West Malling, are described as "shell shocked" at the loss of Frankie Cappuccini yesterday.

The Church Road school is closed today following the death of Mrs Cappuccini, pictured left.

An email was sent to parents last night informing them of the news, and the decision to close the school.

Tributes have been paid to Mrs Cappuccini - thought to be in her early 30s.

Kent County Council area education officer David Adams said: "We have received the sad news that Frances Cappuccini, a teacher at Offham Primary School, died yesterday.

"Frances was a much-loved teacher and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and the school community."

A note has been placed on the school gates asking that floral tributes are not be placed outside, but taken to Offham Church.

A statement on the school's website said: "Our thoughts are with her family at this time."

Offham Primary School is expected to re-open tomorrow.

Mrs Cappuccini taught pupils in the Year 1 Blue class.
