First ever chYps Glow Night Run at Mote Park in Maidstone raised some £6,000

People of all ages were glowing with pride as they crossed the finish line to support children battling life-changing illnesses.

Dozens of runners and walkers wore their brightest outfits and accessories as they raced through Maidstone’s Mote Park last Friday, raising £6,000 for the charity chYps.

The 5km Glow Night Run started at 7pm, with people gathering along the LED-lit route to show their support as flashes of neon whizzed past.

Money raised from the evening will help the organisation, part of Ellenor-Lions Hospices, to continue to provide care at home for youngsters undergoing treatment for life-threatening conditions. It also helps families by arranging respite care and grief counselling.
