KENT Police are appealing for information after a man grabbed a 20-year-old girl by the throat and demanded she hand over her bag.

The incident occurred in Hampton Road, Maidstone, just after midnight on December 2, but officers have only just released details of the incident.

The offender approached the girl from behind as she walked past some garages and took her bag containing her mobile and cash. He ran off towards Littbourne Road.

The man is described as being around 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie which was up.
