Crash involving three vehicles on A20 Ashford Road, Maidstone

A main road has now reopened following an earlier crash involving three vehicles.

The accident happened on the A20 Ashford Road in Maidstone just after 5pm.

The road was cordoned off between Square Hill and New Cut Road until around 7pm.

One ambulance and three police cars were at the scene, as well as several recovery vehicles.

The cars involved included a Mini and a Volkswagen. There were eight affected, including four children.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 5.07pm, on 21 September, to reports of a collision in Ashford Road, Maidstone.

"The incident involved three vehicles. Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service are currently at the scene and the road is blocked."

A spokesman for Secamb said no one was seriously injured but two ambulances did convey an unknown number or people with minor injuries to Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.
