A road closure has been extended by another four days as a result of a sinkhole.
The hole was spotted by a resident on September 29, in Hildenborough Crescent, Allington, and the next day South East Water closed the road to carry out repairs.
The road was initially going to be closed until October 7 for mains repair works.
But this has now been extended until October 11 for water mains and carriageway repair works.
The alternative route is now via Castle Road, A20 London Road.
The sinkhole is near the entrance to Allington Primary School and started at about 8ft by 4ft and up to 3ft deep but started to get bigger.
Back in September 2018, another hole opened in nearby Allington Way and stopped a business owner from using her driveway.
Just under three miles away, in Barming, the A26 Tonbridge Road was closed after a large sinkhole appeared in October last year.
Mark Watson, South East Water distribution manager, said: "We are really sorry to anyone affected by a road closure in Hildenborough Crescent, Allington.
"Our team repaired a leak in the area on Friday, 30 September and we are working as quickly as possible to restore the road surface to its original condition.
"Reinstatement work will continue over the weekend and we anticipate the road will remain closed next week. We apologise for any disruption this may cause to motorists and local residents."
