Mid Kent Police have a new deputy area commander after a staff re-shuffle.

Supt Andrew Rabey has taken over from Supt Steve Corbishley who has become area commander for police in Medway.

A police officer for more than 20 year, Supt Rabey will work alongside the Mid Kent area commander Ch Supt Alasdair Hope.

Supt Rabey started his career stationed at Medway as a police constable and has since worked at Swale as a patrol sergeant and at Kent Police headquarters in charge of criminal justice.

He lives in the area and has clear priorities for the future:

“I want to continue improving people’s confidence of police in Mid Kent,” he said. “With the latest crime figures showing a reduction of 10 per cent across the area, people should be reassured that this is a safe place to live."

Supt Rabey is married with three children. One of his sons is also a serving Kent police officer. In his spare time, he enjoys watching rugby, keeping fit and spending time with his family.
