RAFA hero awarded

A lifelong dedication to ex-servicemen and women has seen one man named in Queen’s Honour’s list,

Eric Seabrook, 76, of Langdale Rise Maidstone, has worked as a welfare officer for the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) for 20 years.

The organisation provides welfare services varying from home visits to care breaks.

His work involves taking part in a wide range of activities, including fund raising and helping former RAF members with home visits.

RAFA provides wheelchairs for injured servicemen, and support for families of those killed in conflict.

Eric was presented with the award by the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Rodd Nelson-Gracie, at Maidstone Town Hall, who said it was a great pleasure to present this award. The ceremony was attended by Eric’s daughter Julia and granddaughter Juliet, and other serving members of the RAFA.
