Police appeal following collision in Harrietsham

A man was left with serious leg injuries after a road accident in Harrietsham.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened on Chegworth Road.

It is believed that a blue, R-reg BMW travelling towards Ulcombe collided with a green T-reg Nissan Almera travelling towards the A20 last Friday, September 11 at around 6.30pm

The 32-year-old driver of the Nissan Almera, who is from the Isle of Sheppey, was taken to hospital with a fractured ankle, which is expected to take a long time to heal.

Insp Geoff Wyatt of police in Mid Kent said: “We would like to get in touch with those involved so that they can be ruled out of this investigation. Additionally, anyone who may have seen the driver of the vehicle during the collision or immediately afterwards, is asked to contact us on 01622 690055 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

A 27 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and taking a vehicle without consent. He has been bailed until November 6.
