Maidstone player-manager Jay Saunders says he hopes the club's feel-good factor will help them extend their winning streak in Ryman League, Division 1 South.

The Stones have now won six consecutive games in all competitions, scoring 28 goals and conceding just two, to race up the league table and ease through two rounds of the FA Cup.

They visit mid-table Chipstead on Saturday with a trip to next-to-bottom Burgess Hill on Tuesday.

Saunders, pictured, said: "We have won six on the spin, scored lots of goals and we’re not conceding at the moment. Things are looking good but we won’t get carried away.

"Chipstead will be a tough one, I am told they are a big, strong side. But we are going in with a lot of confidence. I’m not paying any attention to the table, of course we want to be up there, but if we keep winning games that will take care of itself."

Meanwhile, Stones will host title rivals Bognor in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup following Saturday’s 9-1 demolition of Banstead.

Saunders said: "The draw could have been a lot worse, we could have had a Conference South side away, but Bognor are a decent side who like to play football. It should be a good test.

"A cup run is great for the players and it is also money for the club. Things are looking good on and off the pitch at the moment."
