Both are part of the Maritime Heath Partnership.

In August last year it was announced that the two would be merging, with more than 30,000 patients being affected.

A Boots spokesperson said: “The stores on Albion Place and College Road in Maidstone will close in August.

“Team members have been offered opportunities in other stores in the local area.

“Our nearest store is on King Street and is only a five minute walk away from Albion Place, or a 15 minute walk from College Road, and will continue to offer pharmacy services for customers.”

It is thought that they will be shutting on Friday, August 18 – although this has not yet been confirmed.

The company would not give a reason as to why they are closing.
