Parrish: Win sends out message

Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish believes other teams will sit up and take notice of his side after their 6-1 win over Oxford City Stars.

The Dynamos picked up maximum points from their two games over the weekend after beating Peterborough Islanders 3-2 on Saturday.

Parrish said: “We needed it big time as it gets us back in the hunt.

“We needed to step it up on the ice and off it as well. The players listened to what I wanted and they have realised that I know what I’m talking about.

“I think it definitely sends out a message to everyone else in the league.

“I knew after the game against Streatham when we were 5-2 up and ended up drawing 5-5 that I wanted to make a couple of changes.”

One player who Parrish brought in was netminder Joe White, who played his first two games for the club over the weekend.

Parrish added: “He only let in three goals and was pleased with him. He was disappointed with one of the goals he let in against Peterborough but he didn’t do a lot wrong.”

Parrish has his sights set on taking maximum points against Peterborough at the Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday.

Melichercik will return from suspension while Rider (broken wrist) and Manny (shoulder) are still out. Giles and Lennon are both suffering with a sickness bug, but should be available.
