The Kent County Agricultural Society has a new chairman.
James Forknall takes over from Kevin Attwood who finishes his term after six years in office.
Mr Forknall had previously served as vice-chairman and his family have farmed in Kent since 1953.
His experience as chairman for the Maidstone NFU branch and the Weald of Kent Ploughing Match set him in good stead for the role, members decided at their AGM.
After his election, Mr Forknall said: “I am delighted to have been elected as Chairman of the Kent County Agricultural Society. Kevin has done a tremendous job over the last six years and I certainly have some very big boots to fill. I look forward to the challenge.”
Julian Barnes becomes the new vice chairman. Mr Barnes is the managing director of Biddenden Vineyards and has exhibited at the Kent County Show for 39 years.
