Police have named a man killed after his bike hit a bus stop.

Thirty-six-year-old Darren Saunders, a father of three from Harrietsham, Maidstone, was killed after the accident on Saturday (March 27) outside the Cherry Tree pub on the Tonbridge Road, Maidstone.

Tributes have been laid at the scene to Mr Saunders.

One described him as a "real character who will be dearly missed by all, who never let life get him down" and finished: "Keep laughing and smiling wherever you are."

A section of the Tonbridge Road was closed on Saturday while police began their investigation.

Officers will be at the site again this Saturday (April 3) between 1 and 2pm, hoping to speak to anyone who may have seen anything which could help with their inquiries.
