ALL mums are special but two mums received some extra special attention after being chosen as winners in a Supermum competition with kmfm.

Susan Pescod, whose son was born three weeks premature, was chosen as the kmfm Maidstone winner in the contest, after she was nominated by Lisa Jaycock.

Sam Green was named West Kent kmfm winner after she juggled training as a midwife following the death of her son’s father, who she had separated from six years previously.

The pair were presented with flowers, Champagne and chocolates by kmfm’s Angie Simmonds.

They were chosen as worthy winners by judges who sifted through scores of deserving stories sent in by listeners.

The overall Supermum winner for Kent was announced on air on Thursday as Barbara Newbury, the area winner for Sheerness.
